The Milwaukee Mayor, Cavalier Johnson, presented his top 20 projects on a Friday afternoon at UW-Milwaukee. Going for 27 years, this ceremony is a good one to attend! With four categories considered, Milwaukee Tool – Red Beacon was considered for Urbanism Redefined. IBC Engineering Services provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Lighting design for this project alongside other firms.
Other categories included Neighborhood Renaissance, Places & Spaces, and Vibrant Corridors. This is Johnson’s third round of design awards, and IBC felt incredibly proud to be a part of this experience!
The “Red Beacon” is a conversion of a 40-year-old office building into the tool manufacturer’s headquarters bringing 1,200 jobs to the city. Mortenson and Stephen Perry Smith Architects were the design and construction team.
