On May 20th, 2024 our very own Project Manager Colleen Hoffman participated in a Topping Out ceremony to celebrate a successful Racine County project. The project is for the Youth Development and Care Center located in Caledonia. IBC Engineering Services provided Fire Protection, HVAC, and Plumbing services in partner with other firms shown on the beam. Construction is set to finish in September of 2024 and will be a 70,000 sq. ft facility housing up to 48 beds.
The topping ceremony was a great way to show the hard work put into this project. A construction tradition going back centuries when completing certain project milestones. Traditionally, it’s been known to sign the beam that is the last one to be placed, although sometimes it can also be the highest beam placed.
