A 2,600 square-foot remodeling and addition to the existing culinary arts space at Gateway’s Racine campus, adding a walk-in cooler/freezer, completely new commercial grade cook line and space to provide hands-on training facility for a new retail bakery program, allowing students to produce and sell bakery goods on-site.
The project included the upgrade of the ware washing operation to include an Ecolab high temperature and chemical dish machine for high volume capacity. The Culinary Arts kitchen also serves as the food service kitchen for the campus student commons.
